Words of Healing

"Just like a nest provides a safe and supportive environment for growth, therapy offers a nurturing space where individuals can explore their feelings, heal from past wounds, and build resilience for the future." Nest Therapy

Meet Allison, Therapist and Owner

Allison has worked as a clinical social worker for over 20 years and specializes in supporting women through reproductive life transitions such as in the perinatal period as well as in midlife e.g. perimenopause and menopause. Allison previously worked as a clinical social worker for the IWK Reproductive Mental Health Service for a number of years before embarking on private practice as she saw a need for perinatal mental health expertise in the private sphere.  Allison has also supervised and supported other clinicians in establishing their own practices in this area.

Allison's therapeutic approach is integrative, holistic, trauma informed and draws from models of psychotherapy such as Cognitive Behavioural, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioural Psychotherapy, Feminist Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Allison  has also attended international conferences and workshops with top clinicians and researchers in the fields of perinatal and general mental health treatment.

Please, feel free to reach out to schedule an online session or email to inquire further about the services Allison offers.
